Antique Victorian Sapphire Diamond Love Knot Bangle 15ct Gold
A majestic antique Victorian sapphire diamond bangle, modelled in a bright 15ct yellow gold. The piece consists of a split, double band that twists and interweaves at the front to form a large love knot. It’s crowned with three deep-blue cushion cut sapphires (approx. 0.40ct each) and four twinkling old mine cut diamonds (approx. 0.20ct total).
A love knot has long been a symbol of love, loyalty and friendship as it represents an eternal bond that is unbreakable and forever entwined. They were popularly exchanged between lovers in the Victorian era and those who’d officially “tied the knot”.
This is a grand Victorian bangle, with a pleasing patina and a beautiful collection of natural gems at the front. It dates to the late 19th Century and is held by a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side.
