Antique Victorian Pearl Enamel Locket 18ct Gold With Box
An exquisite antique Victorian pearl locket, modelled in 18ct yellow gold. The locket’s domed centre is topped with a beautiful emblem, painted in a royal blue enamel with natural pearls decorated across the top.
Pearls are the birthstone of June and a true treasure of the ocean, produced organically by fresh and saltwater molluscs. Their spherical shape and exceptional lustre have long been associated with the beauty of the moon and are symbolic of purity, serenity, and loyalty.
The gold shell has developed a lovely smoothness and patina over time and features an engraved border and rope edge. It opens to reveal two compartments, complete with rims and windows ready to house two beloved photographs.
This is a beautifully preserved Victorian locket from the late 19th Century. It’s in pristine condition and is accompanied by its original fitted box, with a brown leatherette exterior and a blue velvet cushion inside for the locket to rest on.
We recommend you insure for £4,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
