A fancy antique Victorian Albert chain featuring a fabulous swivel fob pendant suspended from the bottom that can be rotated. It’s set with a deep-orange carnelian on one side and a speckled green bloodstone on the reverse, both unengraved.

Albert chains were named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort and were traditionally worn by gentlemen to secure a pocket watch or fob to a waistcoat. The fobs weren’t only a stylish accessory but could be used to stamp a signature image or initials into sealing wax on important documents.

The fob is fashioned in a rosy 9ct gold along with the chain which consists of interlocking fetter links, scalloped cable links with engraving down the sides and two claw clasps. It's a wonderful antique find, dating to the late 19th Century and all in excellent condition.
