Antique Victorian Amethyst Pearl Dropper Necklace 9ct Gold

A glamorous antique Victorian dropper necklace from the late 19^th Century lined with bright, white seed pearls along the length with five large oval cut amethyst droppers dangling from the bottom. They have a deep violet hue and graduate in size toward the centre.

Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.

The piece is in excellent condition and fitted with a 9ct gold fishhook clasp at the end to hold it securely.
