Antique Victorian Diamond Pearl Star Pendant 1.5ct Of Diamond
A stunning antique Victorian pendant from the late 19th Century featuring a fabulous open-work gallery with an eight-pointed star in the middle. A large, silver half-pearl bulges from the centre and is encircled by twinkling rose cut diamonds that also chase around the outer gallery (approx. 1.5ct total).
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. Stars were a popular lucky charm to be wished upon and were said to guide us on the path to our dreams and our true destiny.
The piece is fashioned in 18ct gold with silver settings at the front. It’s in excellent condition and looks to have been converted from a brooch with the addition of a new gold loop at the top, complete with a French 18ct eagle mark.
We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
