A glamorous antique Art Nouveau pendant/ brooch from the early 1900s claw set with two natural Ceylon sapphires with an intense royal blue hue. The stones are accompanied by a gem certification that verifies the stones are of Sri-Lankan origin and show no evidence of heat treatment. The centre cushion cut stone weighs an impressive 3.77ct and the pear cut dropper weighs 2.27ct (6.04ct total).

The Sri Lankan sapphire, or “Ceylon” sapphire has been a favourite of kings and royalty throughout history and was regarded as a stone of truth, wisdom and strength. It’s valued for its striking royal blue colouring which tends to be brighter and more vibrant than most other sapphires.

The gallery is fashioned in platinum and 15ct gold and has a fabulous, open-work design with curled, foliate motifs decorated with sparkling old mine cut diamonds that are exceptionally bright and complement the deep blue sapphires perfectly (approx. 1ct total).

It’s a stunning piece with a dazzling array of natural stones. It’s fitted with a loop and a locking pin at the back so it can be worn as a pendant or a brooch.

We recommend you insure for £14,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
