Antique Edwardian Sapphire Diamond Ring 1.2ct Sapphire
A magnificent antique Edwardian carved half-hoop ring modelled in 18ct gold and set with three deep-blue cushion cut sapphires. The largest weighs approx. 0.70ct in the centre with two 0.25ct stones on either side (approx. 1.2ct total).
The sapphires are contrasted beautifully against two bright, sparkling old European cut diamonds that have superb VS1 clarity - H colour. Each is 0.30ct - approx. 0.60ct total.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
It’s a spectacular antique ring, dating to the early 1900s with a stunning combination of natural gems that look wonderful spread over the finger.
