A magnificent antique Georgian amethyst heart pendant, built around an enormous cabochon amethyst heart, with a glossy, gelatinous appearance and deep-purple hue. It weighs approx. 30 carats and is topped with a leafy crown, dotted with twinkling rose cut diamonds that also adorn the loop and a leaf at the bottom (approx. 0.60ct total)

Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep purple/ violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.

The pendant is fashioned in 18ct gold with a silver top and bottom and features a lovely heart locket at the back, complete with its original window, ready to house a cherished photograph, or a lock of hair as was traditionally the case.

This fabulous Georgian heart pendant dates to the early 19th Century. It has remained intact and in excellent condition and is complete with a newer 18ct gold rope chain to display it on.

We recommend you insure for £4,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
