A grand antique Edwardian sapphire diamond cluster ring, made in Birmingham by “Constantine and Floyd Ltd” in 1904. A trilogy of deep blue sapphires stands out from the gallery, with four twinkling old mine cut diamonds complementing in-between. The sapphires weigh approx. 0.30 at the sides, 0.80ct in the centre (approx. 1.4ct total), with approx. 0.28ct of diamond.

Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.

The piece is modelled in 18ct yellow gold throughout and is complete with the maker’s mark and Birmingham hallmarks within the band, along with the inscription “Jan 14th 1905”, which is perhaps the date the ring was gifted for a birthday or proposal.

This striking Edwardian ring is all in excellent condition, with a fabulous combination of precious gems on top, making it a perfect choice for an engagement ring.

We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
