Antique Victorian French Diamond Ivy Bracelet 18ct Gold
A stunning antique French Art Nouveau bracelet from the late 19th Century, modelled in solid 18ct yellow gold. Each open-work link sits flat against the wrist and is decorated with scrolling motifs and ivy leaves, with a silver line of twinkling rose cut diamonds running down the centre (approx. 0.40ct total).
Ivy was a romantic jewellery motif in the 19th Century, representing a strong, loving bond between two people that was not easily broken, as in the Victorian rhyme; “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
This exquisite French Art Nouveau bracelet displays exceptional workmanship and is in excellent condition. It has a pleasing weight to it and is held securely by a box clasp at the end, complete with French hallmarks.
We recommend you insure for £4,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
