Antique Victorian Moonstone Pendant 18ct Gold Large 66ct Moonstone
An astounding antique Victorian pendant built around a mammoth teardrop moonstone cabochon weighing an estimated 66 carats. It’s truly mesmerising and exhibits a particularly bright, silvery luminescence that intensifies in direct light.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
The stone is held securely in an 18ct gold claw gallery with an ornate frame displaying fine engraving and open workmanship. It’s truly one of a kind, in excellent condition and boasts one of the largest moonstones we’ve ever seen!
We recommend you insure for £3,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
