Antique Victorian Moonstone Sapphire Pendant Necklace 15ct Moonstone
A wonderful antique Victorian moonstone pendant showcasing an enchanting teardrop moonstone cabochon in the centre with a bright blue aura that floats across the curvature of the stone. It weighs approx. 15 carats and is bordered by twenty-three complementary blue sapphires, totalling approx. 2.6ct.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
The twilight stones are set in an unusually shaped 15ct gold frame with pierced sides and a long bale. It’s a mesmerising antique Victorian pendant with a fabulous collection of gemstones and a fine 18ct gold chain to display it on.
