Antique Edwardian Star Ruby Diamond Ring 1.8ct Cabochon Ruby
A magnificent antique Edwardian cluster ring crowned with a natural cabochon star ruby weighing approx. 1.8ct, haloed by twelve bright brilliant cut diamonds totalling approx. 1.2ct.
The ruby has a desirable cherry-pink hue with a ghostly inner glow that morphs into a magical star in direct light. It’s complemented perfectly by the diamonds which are beautiful VS1 clarity - G Colour stones with exceptional sparkle.
The mystifying Star Ruby is named after its enchanting star-shaped shimmer known as an asterism that floats across the stones surface of the stone in direct light. The stars three crossbars were said to represent faith, hope and destiny and were worn as powerful talismans, offering protection and guidance to travellers.
The stones are set in a platinum face with a yellow gold band stamped 18ct on the inside. The ring is truly enchanting, very rare and in excellent condition.
