Antique Georgian Paste Drop Earrings Silver Gold Wires
A spectacular pair of long antique Georgian paste drop earrings from the late 18th Century, made up of three articulated, open-work sections, fashioned in silver and decorated with milgrain and clear old cut paste stones that glisten like diamonds as they catch the light.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that has been used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.
They’re a fabulous pair of antique Georgian earrings, both in excellent condition and swing beautifully from 18ct gold hook wires at the top.
