Antique Victorian Diamond Crescent Heart Brooch 2.5ct Of Diamond With Box
A sweet antique entwined heart and crescent brooch from the late Victorian era, decorated with a gorgeous collection of glistening old mine cut diamonds that graduate from tip to tip on the crescent and chase around the border of the heart, totalling approx. 2.5ct.
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.
The brooch is a union of silver and 9ct gold with a long, curved pin at the back, complete with a safety chain for added security when worn.
It would make a perfect gift for a loved one and is accompanied by its original box, which is a wonderful, ornate design with a brown leatherette exterior and cream velvet interior, with the maker’s signature “Vennall” printed on the underside of the lid.
We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
