Antique Victorian Diamond Star Brooch Silver 15ct Gold 3ct Total
A stunning antique Victorian diamond star brooch, fashioned in silver and 15ct gold. The stars twelve points are set with a dazzling array of old mine and rose cut diamonds, with a larger rose cut crowned on top (approx. 0.80ct). They all have a bright sparkle and excellent SI1 clarity – H colour, with a combined weight of approx. 3 carats.
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. Stars were often worn as a lucky charm to be wished upon and were said to guide you on the path to your dreams and true destiny.
This Victorian star brooch dates to the late 19th Century and is fitted with a gold pin and a newer safety catch at the back. It’s in pristine condition and the natural diamonds sparkle as bright as the star they depict.
We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
