Antique Victorian Harlequin Gemstone Bracelet 18ct Gold
A fabulous antique Victorian harlequin bracelet from the late 19th Century lined with eleven colourful gemstones, including red garnets, white rock crystals, yellow citrines, green tourmalines, blue zircons and green/ blue quartz. The smallest stones weigh approx. 0.45ct and graduate in size to a 1.2ct garnet in the middle.
Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of the 16th century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19th Century and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones.
The stones are set in 18ct gold frames that articulate together and join a fine curb chain, complete with box clasp. It’s in excellent condition with a gorgeous rainbow of gems spread out on top.
