Art Deco Onyx Diamond Drop Earrings Platinum
A fabulous pair of Art Deco diamond drop earrings from the 1920s, made up of two jet-black onyx at the bottom, with sparkling old cut diamonds laid out in a pinwheel design on top. The largest diamonds weigh approx. 0.20ct each and are bezel set in the centre, with smaller stones surrounding and crowned atop the hooks (approx. 1ct total).
Onyx is a unique form of chalcedony, distinct for its jet-black colouring and white bands. It was popular during the Art Deco period, when monochromatic designs were in fashion and were often used as a contrasting base for brighter gems to make them stand out.
These are a spectacular pair of Art Deco drop earrings, fashioned in platinum, with 18ct white gold hooks on top. They’re a wonderful design and showcase a glittering array of diamonds that look beautiful dangling from each ear.
