Art Deco Style Ceylon Sapphire Diamond Earrings With Cert And Box
A glamorous pair of Ceylon sapphire diamond drop earrings, adorned with two royal-blue oval cut sapphires at the bottom (approx. 2.4ct each), accompanied by a gem certification that verifies that they are both natural and of Sri-Lankan origin, with some signs of heat treatment.
The sapphires swing from long, articulated droppers, lined with twinkling diamonds and are topped with two curved motifs, encrusted with further diamonds. They all have excellent VS1 clarity – H colour and together, total approx. 2.4ct.
The Sri-Lankan sapphire, or Ceylon sapphire, is prized for its exceptional quality and striking blue hues that tend to be more vibrant than most other sapphires. They have been a favourite of kings and royalty throughout history and were regarded as a stone of truth, wisdom and strength.
These are a stunning and elegant pair of drop earrings, modelled in 18ct white gold and fitted with butterfly stud backs, complete with the maker’s mark (LT) and hallmarks, indicating they were assayed in Edinburgh in 2011.
The earrings are also complete with a burgundy leatherette box, with a cream velvet/ silk interior, with renowned London-based jewellers “Bentley & Skinner’s” signature printed under the lid, suggesting they were perhaps restored and re-sold through the company.
We recommend you insure for £5,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
