Antique Victorian Charm Bracelet With 12 Charms And Fobs

An impressive antique Victorian charm bracelet from the late 19^th Century made up of gold curb links, each stamped “375/ 9ct”, and twelve unique charms also fashioned in yellow gold.

The charms include a large gold bull, a diamond studded orb, a Blackamoor head and Figa hand carved from bakelite, and seven exquisite fobs each featuring elaborate, ornate engraving and an intaglio seal underneath which were originally used to stamp a personal image or phrase into sealing wax on important documents. 

Each fob is unique with depictions of Cupid with an arrow, a fish, acorns & berries and a woman adorned with large hoop earrings, turquoise, and a blue iolite on her head. The intaglios are a mixture of carnelian, bloodstone and blue banded agate with engravings of a rampant lion, the Whitaker Family Crest with the Latin phrase “Robur Atque Fides” (Strength & Faith), A bird flying from a cage with the Latin phrase “Qui me Neglige me Perd” (He who neglects me loses me), and the classic scene of Hercules fighting the Nemean Lion from Greek mythology. 

The bracelet is held securely around the wrist by a new safety chain and heart padlock complete with Birmingham hallmarks at the back that date to 1959. It’s a fantastic collector’s piece with a wonderful collection of charms.
